Mumbai: On February 19 this year, World Cup Cricket (ODI) matches commence in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on several grounds such as Kolkata and Mumbai.
Indian cricket selectors of BCCI, led by former Captain, K.Srikkanth and 4 colleagues have selected a 15-members team out of provisional 30 today,to play on home grounds:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicket keeper from Jharkhand and Ranchi) is the captain. Others select themselves based on form and ability. Gautam Gambhir and Virendra Sehwag will open the innings. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina are the batsmen. Yusuf Pathan at No.7 is the all-rounder. Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Piyush Chawla, Munaf Patel are among bowlers. R.Ashwin is the lone new face (bowler). The team is right now playing in South Africa, with 1-1 level score in ODI matches (3 more to go).
