Mangalore : The valedictory programme of a Crime Prevention Month was organized by the Mangalore Police Commissionerate in association with Criminology Department of Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work organized a Crime Prevention Month at College premises on Jan 7, Friday.
Prof T Shivashankar Murthy, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University participated as the chief guest at the valedictory programme.
Speaking after inaugurating the event in the morning, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the crime will continue till the humans exist. It is our duty to stop the crime and control it by organizing various prevention workshops.
According to the Public, police must control the crime, but they must remember that even they are humans. The public must help them to tackle the problem. If the police do wrong then the public must inform them, he said.
He also said that he will give the copy of programme conducted to DGP and IGP so that this kind of programme will be organized in other places too.
It is said that Mangalorean are intelligent and since the education rate is high here, the public must join hands with police department to control the crime.
Dr Jacintha D’ Souza, principal of the college, Dr Ashoka, head of the department of Criminology, DCP R Ramesh and DCP Muthuraya were present.
