Udupi : Udupi deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha warned that criminal cases will be booked against those who violate the Covid-19 guidelines.
He was speaking after receiving the second dose of vaccine against Covid-19 on Tuesday.
People should follow the fresh guidelines issued for marriages and other public programmes. We will continue the process of imposing penalty for the next three days. Thereafter, we will initiate the process of booking criminal cases against those violate the Covid-19 guidelines. Meanwhile, trade license of shops and other establishments will be cancelled, if violations found in their premises,” the DC warned.
He said the district, which was reporting about 5 – 6 fresh cases in January, has been reporting an average of 20 cases at present. “The positivity rate in the district, which was below 0.3% – 0.5%, has increased to 1.5% – 1.6%,” he said.
In a video conference “Chief minister B S Yediyurappa and health minister Dr K Sudhakar have warned people to be more cautious about the possibilities of a second wave of infection.
