Mangalore : The CSI Shanthi Cathedral, Balmatta will hold 150th anniversary celebration at cathedral grounds on Dec 9, Sunday at 5.30.
Dr EVS Maben, vice president of committee speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Dec 7, Friday, said that the Rt Rev Dr John S Sadananda, Bishop, CSI, Karnataka Southern Diocese will presides over the event, while Lalrokhuma Pachau, director general and Inspector general of Police will be the chief guest.
Most Rev G Devakadasham, moderator, church of South India, Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, Mangalore Diocese vicar general RT Rev Msgr Dennis M Prabhu, Mayor Gulzar Banu, MLA UT Khader, Corporator Naveen D’Souza, Karnataka Southern Diocese vice president Rev Devakumar K P, secretary V Isaac Vijayashekar, treasurer Udayaraj Kaunds and area chairman, Dakshina Kannada, KSD Rev Winefred Amanna will be the guest of honour.
As the part of 150th anniversary celebration the Cathedral will hold thanksgiving worship service at 8.30 am. During this Most Rev G Devakadasham, moderator, church of South India and Rt Rev Dr John S Sadananda, Bishop, CSI, Karnataka Southern Diocese will lead the divine worship and will deliver the Post Centenary Golden Jubilee Messages on the occasion.
Committee presidents Rev Edward S Karkada, Rev Daniel Kaundinya and Secretary Dr Charles V Furtado were present.
