Mangalore : Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa in a press meet held at Circuit House on August 14, Saturday said that, the government has taken special interest for the development of Coastal – Malnad tourism development and released the fund of Rs 200 Crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he also said that, at present many NGO’s have come forward to join hands with the state government in partnership and work for the tourism development. Hence In regard to the tourism development a committee comprising of MP’s, MLA’s and other in charge ministers of over 10 members will be formed to discuss on the various development required for tourism centre.
Further Mangalore will work to set up a Marine Aquarium Park at the estimate cost of Rs 500 crore and will be done in the Singapore Model. Apart from it the construction of Golf court at the cost of Rs 300 crore and a link road will also be done for the development of the city. The city will also have the rope way from Sulthan Battery to Bengre very soon, he informed.
On requesting Mamatha Banerjee for extending Mumbai- Dharwad train to Mangalore has been finally approved hence I thank her for such an initiative, he said.
CM also said that, the concretization work at Shirali Ghat at the cost of Rs 120 crore has been approved by the central government, while the KFDC is working on the Madikeri Bantwal road which will be completed by next year. Agumbe Ghat will be developed with the two lane road.
On answering the question asked by the media person on illegal sand mining, CM said that no other state in the country is exporting their natural resources illegally, apart from Karnataka; hence it must be completely banned. The permission must only be given to the value added service, but central government is against the ban and not willing to give permit for this service.
Instead of exporting the natural resources and import other material we must have other alternate things to manufacture using the technologies.
I appreciate the initiative taken by Rahul Gandhi for enquiring on the illegal sand and may reveal any one’s involvement be it the members of BJP or Congress party, illegal is always illegal and they must be punished.
