Mangaluru: Alva’s educational Foundation President Dr M Mohan Alva was awarded with ‘Cultural Integrity Award’ in Kanthavara Uthava 2016 organised by Kanthavara Kannada Sangha on Wednesday.

Famous cinema director Girish Kasarvalli released ‘Sangha jangama’ book during the occasion. The book has the milestones of the Kanthavara Kannada Sangha’s forty years of journey.

Speaking on the occasion he said that globalisation may look like a profitable option. But development is impossible without the knowledge of culture and mother tongue.

“We should follow the Glocal model for the overall development of the society,” he said.

NITTE University Chancellor Dr N Vinay Hegde, Assocuiation president Dr N Mogasale and others were present during the occasion.
