Mangalore : The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized two gold bars, weighing total Two kgs, from a passenger on Tuesday June 3.
The seized two gold bars worth Rs 54,20,00/- lakh, were found concealed inside the shoes of the passenger.
Ibrahim Khaleel Kunil, a resident of Kudlu in Kasargod, arrived at the airport on June 3 at around 10 pm by Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai.
Ibrahim was later arrested and produced before N S Patil, principal civil judge, senior division and chief judicial magistrate, Mangalore.
The judge remanded him in judicial custody till June 17.
Operations were conducted under the supervision of Pravin Vinod, assistant commissioner of customs, Mangalore International Airport.
