Mangalore: The DK district Panchayat president Koragappa Naik in a meeting of official pointed out on Tuesday that a some of Rs. 1 crore was left unused from the grants made to the disabled persons as a fixed amount for the current year and asked the officials to make full use of the grants provided by the state Govt. without delay.
DK-ZP chief Koragappa Naik further advised the officials at the meeting held in ZP Bhavan on Tuesday that the balance grants so far not spent could be utilized by disabled people as beneficiaries under the special plan, to construct houses, toilets, marketing stalls, students scholarships, education, vehicle purchase to go to various places like schools, and stitch work training for woman etc. wherever applicable.
In the KDP monthly meeting presided over by Koragappa naik, he called for proper reports on the development projects, plans and schemes so far taken up on hand should be forwarded to him to enable him to know the progress made by the ZP body in health, education, housing and roads and such other sections during this year.
Naik told the officials to be present in every monthly meeting of the ZP-KDP, to evaluate the progress made and the work to be done by various department and officers. Whereas the quarterly meetings attended by MPs or MLAs once in 3 months are well attended by the officials too, the latter do not attend monthly KDP meetings Naik observed. It was quit necessary for every ZP officials to be present at the monthly and quarterly meetings and produce their reports on various tasks allotted to them from time to time by ZP members and committees he added.
Vice president Ritesh Shetty and Planning Director Manjunath among others were present at the meeting.
