Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported 29 new coronavirus cases and Udupi district reported 14 coronavirus cases on Thursday June 25.
Out of 29 corona-positive patients 13 males and 16 females including one child. Fourteen among them are Saudi Arabia returnees, two each have travelled from Sharjah and Qatar, one each from Muscat and Maharashtra, three each have contracted the infection from P-9588, a SARI patient and P-9589, a ILI patient, respectively, who tested positive on June 23, one with severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) and one with influenza like illness (ILI) symptoms have tested positive. The source of infection of one patient is being traced.
A 49-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman are serious and being treated in ICU. As many as 43 patients, 40 males and 3 females including one child, were discharged from Wenlock on Thursday.
In Udupi district 14 people including three children tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. Among the 14 patients, five are males and nine females. Ten are Maharashtra returnees, and the source of infection of four patients is being traced.
As per the health bulletin a total of 4,881 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 7 on Thursday, and a total of 4,871 have completed 14 days of quarantine. As many as 638 persons are currently in home quarantine.
As many as 94 cases are currently active. Two deaths have occurred so far. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.
A total of 68 people are in isolation wards, including 11 fresh admissions on Thursday. Among them, five have SARI and three influenza-like illness.
