Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada Police and Kasargod Police organized Border Crime Meeting at Karnataka Bank Auditorium, Kodialbail, Mangalore on Wednesday, July 21.
Speaking on the occasion, Gopal B Hosur, Inspecter General of Police, Western Range said that Dakshina Kannada Police and Kasargod Police have agreed to control the border crime taking place frequently.
Discussing the various aspects of crime in the meeting, he said that the exchange of information meant for law and order, Terrorism, organized crime, women missing cases and unidentified dead bodies will be the main topic of the meeting.
Maintaining the relation and co operation between the neighboring states has been discussed previously. Kannur District of Kerala had organized similar kind of meeting two months back, which was arranged for only top level of officers.
Superintendent of police of Kasargod district Prakash, said that this kind of meeting will help to prevent the crime that occurring off and on in the region. A nodal officer will be deputed in the Kasargod district very soon to handle the crime, he added.
Speaking on the illegal liquor and sand transporting from Mangalore to Kasargod, IGP stated that district administration along police will work to curb the menace of illegal activities.
Mangalore city Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, Superintendent of police Dr A S Subramaneyshwar Rao, DCP Muthuraya (LAW and order) and other police officials were present on the occasion.
