Mangalore : The DK Body Builders’ Association organized the district-level Mr. Dakshina Kannada body building championship 2011 – 12 at Town Hall on Thursday, March 29.

Participating as the chief guest on the occasion, Dr. K. Devraj, the principal of SDM College said that today the youngsters will are seen busy with the computer and Laptop and entertain themselves with the computer games rather than having the outdoor activities. In such situation, the youths will face various health related problem, due to the lack of physical exercise.

He also said that such kind of body building competition will encourage the youths to work out physically in various gyms and maintain their health.

Dilip Kumar, secretary of the association welcomed the gathering. Nagesh Kumar proposed vote of thanks.

Association founder Nagar Narayan Shenoy, Dr K Ghanashyam Kamath, professor at Department of Orthopaedic, KMC, Ravindranath Rai, Association president K. Ashok Shetty were present on the dais.

The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the event.

The competition was held for Seniors, Masters and Physically Challenged in different weight category.
