Mangaluru : The “Suvarna Sambhram” logo unveiling program of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association was held at a private hotel on Wednesday morning.
The program was inaugurated by lighting a lamp.
Speaking after inaguration, SCDCC Bank President Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar said, “In the context of the Golden Jubilee being held by the District Journalists Association, which is always participating in activities with enthusiasm, organize programs that will set an example for the society. I will be with you in all your programs.”
MLC Manjunath Bhandari said, “We have been organizing innovative programs not only in the state but also in the country. By organizing some social-oriented program throughout the year, the journalists here are showing their concern for the people. Today’s journalism students should follow the path laid down by senior journalists and become role models for others. May the district journalists’ association, which is celebrating its golden jubilee, be well,” he said.
Red Cross Society President C.A. Shantaram Shetty spoke and said, “We are concerned and proud of the journalists of the district. Only if journalists work tirelessly can we read the newspaper the next day. We can identify journalists by the work they do. Perhaps journalists who do not have much salary become close friends with love and trust.”
Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai, BalaJagannath Shetty, Annu Mangalore, Raghuram, Anand Shetty, Ravindra Shetty, Harsha and others were present.
Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association President Srinivasa Indaje gave an introductory speech and welcomed the guests. General Secretary Jitendra Kundeshwar proposed the vote of thanks. R.C. Bhat compered the program.
