Mangalore : The SC ST grievance redressal meet held at the Mangalore Police Commissioner’s office on May 26, Sunday saw a Dalit headmistress Kamalakshi of DK ZP Higher Primary School at Panelabarike at Pajeer village, complain that she was being harassed by two teaches, a couple who had joined the school in 2011.
Kamalakshi told the Commissioner that the two teachers Ramakrishna and Rashmi abused her in the name of caste and even wanted her to resign. She said she had lodged a complaint with the police in February, but the police had filed a ‘B’ report without mentioning the names of witnesses in the chargesheet. She said she has also complained to the Block Education Officer seeking justice.
Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has assured to look into the case and do justice.Yet another participant complained that a Dalit member of Kuppepadavu GP Hariappa Mutthoor was abused by the Gram Panchayat President Chandrahas Shetty and Dinesh Moolya for opposing sand mining. It was alleged that the duo even entered Hariappa’s house and threatened him and his mother.
The commissioner assured to go through the case and do the needful.
