Mangalore : G N Nagraj, a CPI(M) leader and Vice President of Dalita Hakkugala Samithi, asserted in a meeting of Civil Rights Awareness Convention on Nov.17 at NGO Hall in Mangalore, said that the Dalits were 52 percents of population in India and therefore reservation in some areas like employment or Industry would not help them to attain social equality. He added that the Congress govt. whether in Delhi or in Bangalore, was only considered about using Dalits for catching votes so that these so-called secular parties remained in power forever, at the coast of those Dalit people who voted for them in any election.
Sunil Kumar Bajal, CPI(M) city unit Secretary accused the Mangalore city Corporation present bosses namely, Deputy Commissioner of DK and city corporation Commissioner and other officials of misusing MCC funds earmarked for Dalit welfare activities only, all these days.
Sanjeeva Balkur, Shanker, Narayan Talapady, Lingappa Nantur and Prashanth and others were present at the meet.
