Mangalore : The members of Karnataka Dalit Sangarsh Samithi local unit staged protest in front of DC’s office on Nov 15 Wednesday demanding the immediate resignation of urban development minister Suresh Kumar.

Organizing convener of KDSS M. Devdas, said that Suresh Kumar is guilty for the death of two Dalits who have died recently while cleaning septic tanks.

He said that even at the present day the people manually clean septic tanks, which is illegal.

They said that those all officials responsible for such acts must be suspended right from their post must ban on manual scavenging to restore dignity to the lives of Dalits.

Vekatagiryayya Mandya, the state organizing convener; Krishnanada D, the district organizing convener; and Shekar Chilimbi also participated in the protest.
