Mangaluru: In an incident reported, a few inmates of the district jail in the city attacked officials of the District Armed Reserve (DAR) as they were being escorted from court back to the jail on Thursday.

The incident took place when they reached the gate of the jail premises. A heated argument broke out between two inmates and when the DAR officials tried to intervene, they were attacked by several other inmates.

Senior officials have initiated investigations in the incident.
