Mysore: A replica of Amba vilas Palace put up at Ramaswamy Circle, by Dasara Illumination sub-committee, ahead of Dasara celebrations, in Mysore, on Monday.
Dasara Darshana, to facilitate rural people’s tour of Mysore during Dasara, will be held from September 26 to 30, said District in-charge Minister V Sreenivas Prasad.
He was speaking after releasing the poster of Dasara Darshana, organised by Dasara Darshana Sub-Committee, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, here, on Monday.
He said, the programme will cover senior citizens, women and members of economically weaker sections from Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu districts.
President of the sub-committee Thotesh said, the participants will visit the Chamundi Hill, Amba Vilas Palace and Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens and take part in Raitha Dasara and other Dasara related events.
Those interested should purchase a pass worth Rs 50 for the programme. The tahsildars of all the 29 taluks, in the five districts, have been directed to sell the passes.
The participants will be ferried in batches to the city from 18 taluks of Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts on September 26, 27 and 28 and from 11 taluks of Hassan and Kodagu districts on September 29 and 30. A total of 174 vehicles will be used for the purpose, he said.
He said, an official will accompany the participants in each vehicle for proper guidance.
The programme will be launched at 10 am in front of Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple on September 26.
