Mangaluru: State Minister for Urban Development and Housing and DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader has assured that Dasara holidays for schools will not be cut short this year. He said a decision in this regard has been taken after consultations with the Deputy Commissioner, DDPI and other authorities.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House on September 27, Thursday, Khader said steps are being taken to construct a new bridge at Moolerapatna instead of repairing the collapsed bridge. A sum of Rs 50 crore has been released to the PWD for the purpose, he said.
New bridge at Gurupur would be constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crores by the NHAI, he said adding vehicles will continue to ply on the old bridge until the new bridge is complete.
