Mysore: With the countdown having started for the Vijayadashami procession, the Jambu Savari, artists from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are busy giving the final touches to the tableaux that will take part in the event.
More than 34 tableaux from all districts of the state, and those by Mysore City Corporation, SBM and Cauvery Niravari Nigam will be a part of the Jambu Savari which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.
He will offer Nandi Dwaja Puja at Balarama Gate of Mysore Palace at 12.45 pm on October 6. District In-charge Minister S A Ramadas said that the tableax from the districts will showcase development and heritage.
They will also have portraits of litterateurs, from D V Gundappa, D S Karki to Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekar Kambar, matinee idol Rajkumar, in addition to the tourist spots and historically important places of the state.
Dasara invitations have been distributed to Union and state ministers, deputy commissioners, opposition leaders, village panchayat officials and other officials.
1,000 seats have been reservecd for foreign nationals inside the Palace, he added. 42 freedom fighters have been invited for the event. Compared to last year, an additional 3,000 seats have been inside the Mysore Palace. Ramadas said that 22,200 will be admitted to the Torch Light Parade which will be held at the Bannimantap Stadium. Entry on October 6 is purely on invitation basis.
Tickets for the Jambu Savari and Torch Light Parade costing `1,000 each will be made available to the public at offices of Mysore Urban Development Authority, Mysore City Corporation and Deputy Commissioner.
When questioned about family members of officers denying passes to the public and the media, he said the lapses would be sorted out.
