Mangaluru : In the electoral roll only 10% of voters turning up to verify their details in Dakshina Kannada since September 1, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B. Rupesh on Friday asked people to visit www.nvsp.in, use the voter helpline app or make use of other modes to complete the process by October 15.
Of the 17,24,458 voters, only 1,79,034 have so far verified their names and other details in the electoral roll, Ms. Rupesh said.
The verification exercise has been poor in Mangaluru City South and Mangaluru City North Assembly constituencies where only 6,203 (2.58% of 2,40,195 voters) and 15,802 (6.62% of 2,38,622 voters), respectively, have turned up.
The Mangaluru Assembly constituency has seen a turnout of 9.27 %, followed by Puttur (11.77%), Sullia (12.16%), Moodbidri (13.97%), and Belthangady (15.4 %) Assembly constituencies.
Apart from the website and the voter helpline app, voters can get their details verified from booth-level officers by producing either their ration card or the Aadhaar card when the BLOs visit their houses.
Verification can be done by calling the helpline 1950 or by visiting the voter facilitation centres opened across the district, Ms. Rupesh added.
