Mangalore : The DC Court has ordered the eviction of the Mangalore Service Center located near Kadri Circle. Accordingly, the order was passed on March 30, Wednesday under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalakatti.
The land on which the service centre was build was leased for a period of 30 years to Covete D’Souza and Dulsine D’Souza. Victor D’Souza, a relative of Dulsine D’Souza, said that the district administration had leased the land to Covete D’Souza and Dulsine D’Souza and that there was a provision to renew the lease on or before Nov 27, 2011. He said that the present DC had passed an eviction order without any notice.
Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalakatti said that the owners had received only 10 cents of the land on lease, but were occupying the other 42 cents of government land illegally. He said that the owners can renew their lease for 10 cents, adding that the owners had placed a stay order in the High Court and that it was rejected by the court. The DC court later issued an order for eviction.
