Mangalore: An All India Relay Cycling Expedition from Trivandrum to Jammu has been organised by the Airports Authority of India, in association with the Airport Sports Control Board and the Mangalore International Airport. The second leg of the expedition from Mangalore to Goa was flagged off by DC N Prakash at the Mangalore airport on January 17, Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC was appreciative of the organisers for arranging the expedition. Former Mangalore Airport director M R Vasudeva also spoke on the occasion.
Present airport director Radhakrishna in his address, said the main objective of the expedition was to promote national integration. He described the expedition as challenging.
The team will reach Goa on January 21 and will reach Jammu via Mumbai, Baroda, Udaipur. The team members are Vamsi Pradeep from Vijaywada Airport, T Aravind Chennai Airport, Jaydeep from Chennai Airport, S R Patil from Hubli Airport, Mukesh Meena from Vijawada Airport and Dikshit from Rajmadri Airport.
