Dr. N.S. Channappa Gowda, new deputy commissioner in 2011, said on Dec 3 at Deepa Hotel on MG Road in a Workshop that he inaugurated, that Mangalore city was growing and changing a lot faster, and basic citizenship amenities also had to grow and expand accordingly, to cover all words and an increasing population.
It is only when construction rules and codes were properly implemented and followed by civilians, that a neat and well-adorned Mangalore city would take shape in proper ways. He hoped that a good debate would ensue on such rules/regulations, and their implementations, at the workshop having real estate sellers and builders at large.
MUDA (Mangalore Urban Development Authority) commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde as chief guest, stressed on the point that all people had to act in developing the coastal city, as per planned methods only.
Architect K.C. Naik of Mahabaleshwara Builders, presided. MCC planning Officer Balakrishna Gowda, Fire Brigade chief Varadarajan, MUDA member Harsha attended.
PMA Razaak of constructors’ Association welcomed. Members, civil engineers, real estate men and builders, took part in the workshop to know more about civic rules.
