Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada District Administration organized a formal farewell to former DC V Ponnuraj as well welcome function for present DC Subhodh Yadav at Conference Hall of DC Office on October 26, Tuesday.

Additional Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma welcomed the gathering and shared his experience with Former V Ponnuraj. He said that Ponnuraj has worked to solve the problems as his own. He had got good opportunity to work in DK because there was large number of problems. He faced all the challenges and sought the solution.

Ponnuraj is a person without vision but work with action, he said.
MCC Commissioner Dr K N Vijayaprakash said that he has made the dream of road widening of Carstreet as reality by convincing the people.
Former DC V Ponnuraj, said that ‘I am satisfied with what I have done in the City’. The development work took place only because of the support rendered by the public.

He also recalled his days working with Superintendent of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao and Former IGP Gopal Hosur. He said that he had a wonderful stay in Mangalore in past one year none months.
Present DC Subhodh Yadav said that the words by the public spoken in appreciation of V Ponnuraj, increased his responsibility.

Former DK DC V Ponnuraj was felicitated with a shawl, garland and the memento of elephant which shows his strength. Large number of authorities including Mohandas Prabhu, president of Kanara Chambers of Commerce, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Balakrishna, Superintendent Engineer of PWD and others spoke on the occasion.
Zilla Panchayath CEO Shivashankar presided over the function.

Udupi DC P Hemalatha, DCP R Ramesh, Additional Superintendent Prabhakar, Forest Officer Vijayakumar were present on the Dias.
