Mangalore : Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav ordered to implement Global Positioning System (GPS) in all the buses in the district by December 31.
In a press release, he informed that the installation of GPS will help to check the traffic violations, route diversion and cancellation, overspeed, time management and help the convenience of passengers.
Further the meeting  will be convene to police, RTO and bus owners in this regard and said that the drivers and conductors should follow a uniform dress code.
If the busses found stopped at the middle of the road and not allowed passengers to board and get down from buses, the authority will take stern action against them, he informed.
The district administration has sufficient resources to implement traffic signs such as divider, zebra crossing and signboard, he added.
