Mangalore : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash  has emphasized the need to protect environment alongside promoting industrial development.

He was speaking as a chief guest at the Environment Day programme held at Baikampady on June 5, Wednesday under the pint auspices of National Federation of Environment Protection and Baikampady Small Industries Association.

There is always the complaint of pollution when it comes to industries, he said adding  industries should adhere to pollution control guidelines. He further assured measures to develop the industrial area.

Purushottam Chitrapura, Corporator, MJ Shetty, President  f Small Industries Association, Arun Padiyar, Vice President, and other office bearers were   present on the occasion.
