Udupi: State Home and Transport Minister R Ashok has said that the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district has been requested to permit the KSRTC to operate city buses in Mangalore, though rules as now does not permit to operate government buses.

Speaking to reporters in Udupi on June 7, Thursday, he said the government was also committed to run government buses between Udupi and Mangalore. On the tinted glass removal drive from vehicles, the minister said the cops instead of using coercive measures, should take the public into confidence on the issue.
