Mangalore : Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav inaugurated two-day district Police Sports Meet organized under the joint auspices of Dakshina Kannada district police and Mangalore city police at police grounds on Jan 11, Tuesday.
He said that, Mangalore has been considered as one of the sensitive areas in the state, but there has been no incident took place in this part of the coastal Karnataka.
Mangalore’s improved security and communal harmony shows the improved public cooperation with police, he said.
City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, welcomed the gathering.

District Armed Reserve Police, Mangalore City, Panambur Subdivision, Puttur Sub Division and Women Police are participating in this annual sports meet.
Various games such as running race, relay, discuss throw, javelin throw, long jump, high jump, hammer throw, triple jump, tug-of-war, marathon event, cricket match, shuttle badminton, slow motorcycle race, shooting, shot-put were arranged under separate categories.
