Mangalore: The DK district magistrate’s court has done a good job of deciding about 80 criminal cases in 4 months, in view of a time bound programme adopted by DC, Subodh Yadav, IAS, who is also the district magistrate. Yadav has issued verdicts and orders on the 80 decided cases.
It may be noted that Yadav took over as DC/DM
in DK district, 4 months ago; about 230 cases had remained pending for verdict. Some cases from 2006 also were waiting legal decisions.
In the first month no judicial work could be taken up due to electoral responsibilities, the DC admitted. Yet in the next 3 months, 50 cases were inquired into, and final orders were issued, Yadav disclosed.
Even newly brought 45 cases were added and 25 out of them were decided. The DC has taken care to see that no delay was made in the legal process. All information on cases is displayed on the notice board. People will now believe in justice rendered at district level, he said.
