Mangalore: The DCIB and CCB Police have arrested six persons at Kodialbail in Mangalore on December 12, Wednesday and have claimed to have foiled a conspiracy made by the six to murder a prominent person of the city. All the six arrested are said to be aides of the notorious underworld don Chota Shakeel.

The arrested are Ravi alias Bombay Ravi (25), Rama alias Barma (33), Purushottama (21), Vinod alias Gas Vinod (23), Devaraj (25) from Bangalore and Sohail Ismail Sheik alias Bata (23) from Thane in Maharashtra.  It is learnt if some of them had cases against them in Bangalore, one had a case against him in Ullal police station.

Reports said the six had even contacted another underworld don Rasheed Malabari who was   behind bars in Mangalore and had hatched the murder plot at his behest. Police have also seized a  Maruthi zen, five swords, eight sim cards, three ATM cards, an Aadhar card and nine cell phones from them.

Investigations are in progress.
