Mangalore, June 19, 2012: The DCIB police arrested day light interstate thief near Puttur Railway Station on June 13, 2012.
The arrested is identified as K R Santhanam alias Chandran alias Anthony (47), son of late Baburaj resident of Marudha Malai Adiram, Vadavalli village, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu.
Speaking at the press meet held at SP Office SP Abhishek Goyal said that the police have seized 1 and half kg silver, 70 grams of gold, 1 mobile set, 1 lap top, gold weighing machine, gold identifying stone, lock breaking instrument of worth Rs 3,50,000 at his house at Kannur and JC Jewellers of Talacheri.
He also said that the arrested has robbed from 12 houses in the year 2012 and is in Puttur City Police Station custody.
Arrested has earlier been arrested in 2003 for theft in many temples and was arrested in Moodbidri and imprisoned for 3 years in Mysore Jail. In 2007 he was released from the jail and continued to rob in Puttur area. The Vittal Police Station and Kasargod Police Station has issued warrant against him in relate to many theft case.
The accused was arrested by DCIB Inspector Vinay S Nayak, Puttur City Police Inspector Sudharshan and DCIB staffs Sanjeeva Purusha, Chandra Aadoor, Udaya Rai, Tharnath, Palanivelu, Vijaya Suvarna, Mohammed Iqbal, Rithesh Kumar, Shantha Shetty and Devayya and other under the leadership of Puttur ASP Anuchethan, as per the direction of DK SP Abhishek Goyal,
