Mangalore : The death toll in the ghastly LPG tanker mishap at Perne near Uppinangady has risen to nine with one of the seriously injured woman breathing her last at a private hospital in Mangalore on April 12, Friday.

Vimala, an Anganavadi teacher died at Fr Muller Hospital where she battled for life for two days.

Others who died in the mishap are Cheluvarasan, the tanker driver, Vasantha, the driver of the Maruti Omni which was gutted in the mishap, Shobha, Khateejamma, Vanitha, her son Shitesh, Sunil and Chaitresh.
