Bangalore: Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has said that the decision on cutting down the cess on petrol in the state would be taken in two days after consultation with finance officials.
It may be recalled here that the CM had earlier promised to reduce the cess after the MLC elections. Now that the elections are over, results are out and the BJP pleased with the results, it is high time the CM retains his promise at a time when the common man is hit hard by the hike in petrol price.
Meanwhile, there is a possibility of the oil companies reducing petrol prices by Rs 2 on Friday. This would be the second cut in petrol prices after the May 23 hike by Rs 7.54 per litre. Earlier, petrol prices were reduced by Rs 2 per litre on June 3.
