Mangalore :   Deep sea fishing boats have set on a fishing expedition on August 2. In Malpe deep sea fishing boats will venture into seas after August 6. As the official  fishing ban period will be effective till August 10, these boats which venture into fishing can return only after that.

Deep sea fishing is banned during monsoons as it is breeding season for fishing. Even boats of 10 HP capacity or more are not permitted.

Usually, deep sea fishing boats will return from an expedition after almost eight days. There are around one thousand mechanized boats and 500 ordinary boats which venture into fishing in the district.
