Mangalore: A young woman hailing from Kodikal in Mangalore, has allegedly committed suicide after her lover refused to marry her.

The deceased has been identified as Sushma Shetty and her body was found at Panambur beach on September 15.

Hailing from Kodikal, Sushma who had left  home on Thursday morning for the Satya Sai Mandir near Ladyhill had not returned home following which a complaint as registered in Urva station.

It is learnt, Sushma who worked in the  medical store of City Hospital, was in love with one Dr Bharath, a widower,  who worked in the same hospital and was reportedly dejected after Bharath refused to marry her after a woman known to Bharath doubted Sushma’s character.
