Kasargod : KP Mohanan, Kerala Minister for Agriculture has informed that the government was considering the demand to deploy rapid action force in Kasargod district in the wake of the district witnessing frequent communal strifes.
He was addressing a district level meeting of officials held on Monday, May 7 to discuss steps to avert communal tension in the district. It was informed at the meeting that flex boards, banners etc which were the main bone of contention leading to clashes, have been removed. Organizations have also been directed that they can put up the flex boards regarding any function four days in advance and will have tor remove the same within 24 hours after the function was held.
Participants in the meeting also suggested that no communal related speeches be delivered in functions at religious shrines. It was also decided to hold district level peace meetings on the first Monday of every month and panchayat level meetings on the third Monday of every month.
