Mangalore : Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat has suggested that the District Wenlock Hospital be named after the great social reformer Kudmul Ranga Rao while the Ladygoschen Hospital be named after Veera Rani Abbakka.
The Deputy Speaker gave this suggestion at the Arogya Raksha Committee meeting on the integrated development of Wenlock and Lady Goschen Hospital here on January 26, Saturday.
District Minister CT Ravi who was present in the meeting, considering the suggestion, said a resolution be passed and forwarded to the government so that it could act on it.
The Minister also suggested that all schemes under the integrated development fo Wenlock and Ladygoschen Hospitals be implemented at the earliest. He said tenders have been invited for Rs 21.70 crore worth works aimed at the upgradation of the Ladygoschen Hospital into a500 bedded hospital.
Several officials including Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, ZP chief Executive Oficer Dr Vijayaprakash, MCC Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar and District Health Officer Dr Srirangappa attended the meeting.
