Bangalore: Hassan MP and JDS Supremo, HD Deve Gowda today expressed that he was not in favour of Yoga teacher Baba Ramdev’s fight to recover India’s black money deposits abroad and eradication of corruption in public life. Baba had stated on Weednesday that youth trained to carry and use armaments would be let lose on police in Delhi against atrocities committed on armless (as in Ramlila Maidan) and for self –defense against terrorists.
Speaking to reporters on a visit to Hubli on Thursday, Devegowda said he did not like Baba’s violent thinking against Section 144 or police action.
Devegowda also voted against the UPA Govt’s decision to evict agitators on the midnight of June 4, as fighting for one’s rights and a clean public life is part of democratic system in India. Any attempt to thwart such rights is condemnable as use of force is involved, he pointed out.
Devegowda also stated that CM Yeddyurappa was not his equal in any way. He added that he would join Yeddyurappa in any slander or allegations that he may make. Gowda wanted to tour Karnataka from June 17 onwards to educate people on the corrupt activities and anti-people attitudes maintained by BJP rulers in state government.
