Mangalore :   RV Deshpande, State Minister for Higher Education distributed  scholarships to 596 engineering and 28 MBBS students on behalf of the Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund  at  T V Raman Pai Convention Centre on September 2, Monday. A total of Rs 2.5 cr scholarships were distributed.

In his address, Deshpande urged students to make best use of scholarship and also to inculcate good qualities.

Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo who spoke, said the scholarships are of great help to students who faced financial constraints to pursue higher education.

World Konkani Centre President Basti Vaman Shenoy, Secretary VKSSF Pradeep G Pai and Secretary World Konkani Centre Venkatesh Baliga, Chairman VKSSF Ramadas Kamath U and others were present.
