Udupi : Janata Dal (Secular) district JD(S) president Deviprasad Shetty resigned from his post on Thursday, April 16.

He has submitted his resignation letter to H D Deve Gowda, national president of JD(S), on Thursday.

Speaking to the press persons in Udupi he said, that I have worked for the party for 15 years as a district president in Udupi district. It is my own decision and no pressure has been put on me to give up this esteemed post. He thanked all those who extended support to him.

He said he will continue to remain as a party member and continue to work for the cause of the public.

He also stated that he has no plans to contest for the upcoming elections to Belapu Gram Panchayat.
