Subrahmanya: A 31-year-old devotee of Subrahmanya temple lost his life while taking ‘Theerthe Snana’ at Kumaradhara Snanaghatta on Sunday.
The deceased is identified as D R Venkatesh of Bengaluru. He was driven by the force of water and lost his life by drowning in the river.
He was taxi driver as a profession. He was a resident of Nelamangala Dabaspete. He and his family had come to visit the Kukke Subrahmanya temple on Sunday morning. Before visiting the temple, along with his relatives he went to take bath in the Kumaradhara River. Rest of his mates finished the bath, but Venkatesh didn’t returned back.
One home guard and a lady home guard were present at the spot during the incident. The locals are alleging that due to lack of precautionary measures such incidents are repetitively taking place. Puttur Fire Service personnel are searching for the body.
A case has been registered in Subrahmanya police station.
