Mangalore : Mangalore Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha under the guidance of Shri Raja Sandhyanathji of Kadri Temple celebrated mass Samudra Puja at Tannirbavi Beach shores, on August 24, Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Raja Sandhyanathji said that worshipping the sea shows the richness of the Hindu religion and it brings happiness in every family.
An offering like where milk, fruits and coconuts were taken in the formal procession from Shri Brahma Bobbarya Daivastana Bokkapatna to Tannirbavi. Later they were offered to the sea.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagesh Bolar, Secretary, Mangalore Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha, said that the mogaveeras Kudroli, Bokkapatna, Paduhoige, Jeppu, Bolar, Hoigebazar, Neereshwalya celebrate the event and avoid fishing on the day.
The event which was celebrated separately before is now celebrated together from past few years under the leadership of Kadri Swamiji.
The worship made to the sea will protect the fishermen folk from the tragedy at sea during fishing. This ceremony is held to begin the fishing occupation of the year, he added.
Secretary of Karnataka Mogaveera Kriya Samithi Vasudev Bolar, President of Mangalore Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha Devdas Gurikar Jeppu, President of Yuva Vedike Jogi Samaja Mahesh Kumar and others were present.
