Mangalore : A handcuff protest was organized in front of the DC office in Mangalore on December 10, Monday by the DYFI and the SFI to protest against the arrest of Kasturi channel reporter Naveen Soorinje in the homestay attack case.
Addressing the agitators, DYFI President Muneer Katipalla blamed the BJP government in the state for the arrest of Naveen and also for the several cases of human rights violations in the state. He also alleged that the government was acting at the dictates of the RSS
He also said Soorinje is now behind bars just because he opposed the BJP government and its policies and added the organizations fully backed Naveen and will continue to fight till his release.
Saara Aboobakker, writer, PB D’Sa, PUCL President, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail of Komu Sauhdarda Vedike and several other leaders took part in the protest.
