Beltangady: A variety of cultural programmes marked the Lakshadeepotsava celebrations at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on December 10, Monday. The entire village of Dharmasthala is illuminated and is presenting a whole new world.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the programmes which reflected the vibrant cultural hues of the nation. The programmes included dance performances by Sukanya S Bhat and her troupe from Radhakrishna Dance Academy, Maharashtra. There was also a group dance by Natyaniketan, Kolya. The musical programme by Platform Productions, Mangalore also enthralled the audience.

All-religion conference today : An all-religion conference will be held at the Amritha auditorium of Dharmasthala on December 11, Tuesday as part of the celebrations. The conference will be inaugurated by former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde. Dr Prasanna Venkatacharya Chaturvedi Swamiji of Sri Ramanujam Mission Trust will preside over the function.

Among others who will speak include Abdul Salam Puttige from Mangalore,  Fr PK Jacob from Dharwad and  professor BK Nyama Gowda of Belgaum

The entertainment show of the day will feature a dance  programme by Pramod Alva, a participant of India’s Got Talent programme. There will also be  Bharathanatyam performances by Jnana Aithal of Mangalore and Ankita Rao from Dharwad.
