Manipal: Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and NABL Accredited Kasturba Hospital Laboratory Services, Manipal will organize three days uniquely designed conference.
Diagnocon 2018 from February 23, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.
The conference involves all diagnostic modalities related to patient care on a single platform. According to Dr Pragna Rao, dean Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and the organizing chairperson, the conference will offer plenty of opportunities for experts to deliver their best and the young minds to get inspired.
A number of diagnostic divisions like Pathology and Clinical Haematology, Microbiology and Virology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Genetics and Immuno-haematology will be part of the cutting-edge conference.
On the first day, there will be a series of parallel workshops, which have been designed to close the practice gaps and reinforce skills, highlighting the major thrust areas of various diagnostic fields.
On the next two days, there will be a brief overview of laboratory medicine and management, followed by parallel sessions of several key lectures, panel discussion, and interactive sessions by experts.
Thirty-two speakers of national and international repute and 250 delegates are expected to take part.
There will also be a panel discussion on, ‘Initiating and sustaining a quality laboratory’, which will be moderated by Dr Sitalakshmi, head, Haematology and clinical pathology, St John’s Medical College, Bengaluru.
Postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as faculty, will be presenting their findings in research through oral and poster presentations.
The conference will have an industrial exhibition of diagnostic facilities comprising the latest technologies, products and developments as well as their service in the field of laboratory equipment for in-depth research.
