Bangalore : Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shettar who all these days had hesitated to utter even a single word that proved that he was part of the dissident team in the BJP, despite involving in dissident activities headlong, is learnt to have agreed to tender his resignation in an interesting turn of events.
Of the nine BJP ministers who quit, Shettar was the only man who was an original BJP worker with a Sangh Parivar background while the rest were defectors. It is learnt, earlier in the day when all other ministers agreed to resign, only Shettar was adamant on the grounds that it would not be proper for him to resign as he is being projected as a CM candidate of the dissident group and that it would not be proper for him to quit cabinet demanding a change in leadership.
However, other ministers who did not like this line of argument said it would not be wrong for Shettar to resign when they were all resigning for his sake. It is learnt, finally Yeddy himself had to openly tell Shettar that it was advisable for Shettar too to quit. But, it is said an unrelenting Shettar was finally forced to sign his resignation letter along with others.
