Bangalore : In a statement that has potential to stir a fresh bout of controversy between Raj Bhavan and Vidhana Soudha, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has clarified that the issue of Forest Minister C P Yogeshwar’s alleged involvement in Mega City project did not figure during the discussion.
“I am telling the truth that the project issue did not figure at all when I called on the Governor on Saturday. I will stick to my stance,” the chief minister said, while speaking to reporters after Janata Darshan at his home office here on Monday.
When his attention was drawn towards the Governor’s statement that Mega City project issue did indeed the CM categorically but enigmatically said, “I am telling the truth that the issue of project did not figure. For more information and clarification you can speak to the Governor himself.”
He said, except for a private complaint lodged by a few people, neither the court nor any other Constitutional body has indicted Yogeshwar and hence there was nothing wrong in him being the minister. “We have looked into all angles before inducting him to the ministry,” Sadananda Gowda further stated that, “The issue is in court. It would be sub judice to discuss the issue in public.”
The CM refused to comment on the issue of his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa’s decision to take out a Rath Yatra from October 10. “I have nothing to say. It is left to the party president and Yeddyurappa to comment on the issue,” he added.
