Mangaluru: All Polytechnic College Association staged protest demanding the clarification in carry over policy of the Directorate of Technical Board on Wednesday in front of DC Office.
Speaking to the protestors Association Lawyer Dinaker Shetty said that the department has failed to implement the carry over policy clearly.
“Minister Deshpande had promised to revise the carry over policy and change of syllabus in every five year. But none of the promises were implemented. As per the carry over guide lines the student who has more than four backlogs cannot appear for next academic year. This has been questioned in the court and court has ordered to revise the norms to eight subjects,” he said.
He further said that none of the revisions were made by the department. This has created a confusion among students and many students are declared as not eligible to appear for the next academic year.
Further he urged the government to implement the proper carry over system and to allow first and second year students to appear for the next academic year, as the majority of students educational life may hinder by the present norms.
Memorandum has been submitted to Chief Minister and Governor through Deputy Commissioner.
Shivaprasad, Siddharth, Likhith, Shashvath and others were present.
