Mangalore: In a press release issued today at DCO, the DK-DC Subodh Yadav has informed news reporters about a conman of KIADB in Baikampady who as second division clerk was working on Land acquisition (LA) matters, had stolen a cheque from special LA officer, had used artificial documents after creating them for a false beneficiary in the name of Krishnadas Permude, had opened a bank account in Kavoor branch of Corporation Bank and cheated the KIADB by encashing the cheque for Rs.73, 69,793.
The same conman, Pradeep Kumar, while working in DC office in city, removed a cheque book relating to Beggars’ Relief Fund, and forged the signatures of officials of the DC office, cheated the Kannada and culture department in the name of its Assistant director by encashing the cheque for Rs3 lakhs. Departmental enquiry is progressing on both allegations. Pradeep Kumar has been dismissed from service under state civil service rules (1957) after the allegations were proved by investigation.
