Mangalore: The Dalit Rights Action Committee has alleged that six Koraga tribal families of Nantur who were displaced during the Mangalore-B C Road National Highway Quadrilateral construction have been still deprived of proper compensation.
Krishnappa Konchady, State Convenor of the Committee and a leader of the Adivasi Hakkugala Samanvaya Samithi, said that the families have also not been given the land sanction document letter even after 18 months and also added that neither has been their house rent compensated.
He said the several requests with the NHAI and the district administration to solve their problems went unheard of . Even the protest march taken out by the Samithi from Nantur to DC office to press for the fulfillment of demands went futile, he said.
Dalit Right Committee Secretary Lingappa Nanthoor, Dalit leaders Vasudev Uchil, Narayan, and others were present.
